Teen Vogue Back To School Saturdays

My first Teen Vogue event!!!

Our Back To School style book they handed out.

They provided makeovers before the show started. I received a silver and gold pineapple flash tattoo.

Hair stylists also did my hair in this waterfall braid.

Makeup artists also did my eye makeup (this was taken later in the day so it kinda melted off!)

The Panel (from left to right): Jess Keys (blogger behind "The Golden Girl"), Jen Chae (YouTube channel "From Head To Toe"), Andrew Bevan (Teen Vogue's Style Director), and Lindsay Leaf (Teen Vogue's Executive Director for Integrated Marketing).

 I met Andrew Bevan!!

There were three themes for Back To School.
The first was "70's Fringe."

The second trend was "Cool Rider."

The third trend was "Pretty in Prints."
This trend was my personal favorite :)

This event was amazing!!! I'm so glad I was able to go and thank you Teen Vogue for putting it together!

Lace and Floral

My Outfit: Shirt-Target; Pants-Buffalo Exchange; Sandals-K Mart

Mixing prints and textures is a helpful way to begin transitioning from summer to fall. It is also a great rule to live by when layering and coming up with new outfits. I showcase that in my outfit! I paired a three quarter length lacey top with flowy pants and sandals. The lace top is lightweight but the length of the sleeves help keep me warm when it's a little cooler out. My pants are breathable and not too heavy so they still work for the summer and early fall weather. I would pair this outfit with close toed shoes if it were chilly out but the day I wore this outfit, it was warmer.

Urban Chic

My Outfit: Dress-Aeropostale; Socks-Aeropostale; Boots-Thrifted

T-shirt dresses, in my opinion, are the best things ever invented. They are comfortable, breathable, adorable, and easy to dress up or down! I chose to dress mine down, but I will more than likely feature this dress in a later post showcasing how I would dress it up. I paired it with causal booties and socks to give my outfit more interest. I love these socks because they have polka dots and ruffles! I wore this outfit to work and I received so many compliments and I hope it gives you inspiration to add something else to a rather plain outfit to jazz it up!

Ballerina Barre

My Outfit: Shirt-Kohl's; Shorts-Thrifted; Hat-Thrifted; Sandals-Target

I used to take ballet and tap classes and this outfit brings back all of those memories. I loved all of the costumes, backstage views, and of course the friendships that came along with it. Every dancer will understand the reference on this shirt! "Meet me at the barre" means the ballet bar, hence the title of this post. I wanted this outfit to be casual so I paired this shirt with cutoff shorts, braided sandals, and of course my fedora straw hat.  I even painted my nails to match my outfit. I painted them a light pink color and then put a gold sparkly clear coat over it.

I wore this outfit on a fun trip with my mom, sister, and best friend to IKEA! I love IKEA and I was excited to bring my friend because she is studying to be an interior designer and I thought she would enjoy the store as much as I do. Here are a few pictures of our adventure to IKEA:

Car ride to IKEA!

Cross My Heart

My Outfit: Dress-Old Navy; Vest-Burlington Coat Factory; Sunglasses-Pac Sun; Sandals-Payless

This outfit is so different for me and I love it! (Maybe I have an edgy side I didn't know about!) But I also kept it girly with the lace at the bottom of the vest! The vest is also the statement of the outfit because it is over a black maxi dress. To let the vest stand out, I also paired it with simple shoes and sunglasses.

Have a great rest of the week!
