Now Trending: Ombre/Balayage Hair

If you haven't noticed, I changed my hair! It has been the same way for the last 4 or more years and it was time for a change. Pictured above are three celebrities with ombre hair and the last one has balayage hair. I was unfamiliar with the term balayage until I recently went to the hair salon. I asked my hair stylist to give me ombre hair and she said "Oh you mean balayage?" I went along with it and the next thing I know is some of my ends were lighter and some of the front of my hair was lighter as well. I absolutely LOVED how it turned out! It looks a lot more natural than the ombre and I would definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Here is a website describing how the two hairstyles differ:

Circa 1900's

My Outfit-Shirt:Thrifted; Pants-Thrifted; Sandals-KMart

I have been on the hunt for a pair of pin-stripped pants. I finally found one at a Plato's Closet sale and I only paid $2 for them! Score!! I wore a vintage inspired t-shirt with it and coral sandals.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

In the Median

My Outfit: Top-Thrifted; Skirt-Aeropostale; Jean Jacket-Thrifted; Sandals-K Mart

I love just driving down a road and looking off into the distance, trying to reach it, but never quite succeeding. It is relaxing to me so of course I used a long and winding road as my "backdrop."  My outfit also embodies the word median because it mixes two patterns and two contrasting colors and finds a happy medium for the two. My black and white floral printed skirt is actually a dress that I converted into a skirt by wearing a shirt over it. This is just a simple idea to reinvent or give a new life to an old piece of clothing. I loved how both the skirt and the top have black and white patterns in them but the skirt's background color is black and the tops background color is white. This helps balance them out. I paired my outfit with a jean jacket for extra warmth and my dark coral sandals for a pop of color!

the letter "S"

Emily Fields better watch out! This look reminds me so much of the sporty but trendy character from Pretty Little Liars (aka my favorite show). This short-sleeve knit top is actually from the Pretty Little Liars line at Aeropostale, but it was designed with Spencer in mind instead of Emily! I love it obviously because of the letter "S" but also because it was worn on the television show! I paired it with a plaid flannel that has red lines running through it and black skinny jeans to let the shirt do the talking. I wore this outfit to work and I received a lot of compliments on it, so maybe I should start incorporating more edgier pieces into my wardrobe!

My Outfit: Shirt-Aeropostale; Flannel-Thrifted; Jeans-Forever 21; Shoes- Converse

Peace out!

Ice Cream

My Outfit: Shirt-Thrifted; Jeans-Gap; Shoes-Converse; Necklace-Charlotte Russe

"I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!"

I wore this outfit to meet some friends and have ice cream! I don't know if you can tell by the last picture, but I was pretty excited! For my outfit, I wore a classic striped top and distressed boyfriend jeans with white converse. This is a staple outfit in my opinion, but to make it pop I added one of my favorite statement necklaces. I love how it incorporates pastel colors which is what I think of when I think of ice cream!

My favorite ice cream is the new Jimmy Fallon ice cream by Ben & Jerry's! SO YUMMY! Leave a comment down below telling me your favorite ice cream flavor!

A Trip To: CHICAGO

Ohhh my favorite city. I have been to Chicago six or seven times now and I always find new things to do here. My sister and I went by ourselves and we met one of our best friends from college there. We all explored the city and it was one of the best memories I have from the summer so far! Here is a look at what we did during our trip!

Of course we had to visit the classic Bean!

The Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup! We watched the game on television and it was my first time watching hockey and they won!! I can now say I am a Hawks fan and now I really want a baseball cap with their logo on it :)

I also went to my first Chicago Cubs baseball game! Even though they lost, we still had a blast!

Blackhawks showed up with the Stanley Cup!

Cynthia Rowley (a famous fashion designer) threw the first ball!!

We visited Buckingham Fountain and it was so BEAUTIFUL!

I have always wanted to visit Dylan's Candy Bar and they finally opened one in Chicago! I got a little container filled with yummy sweets and my favorite were the chocolate OMG's. They are graham crackers and other stuff covered in chocolate, ummm yes please! Dylan is Ralph Lauren's daughter and he is my all time favorite designer so of course I loved this place!

Then we went to Shed Aquarium and we saw several cool animals. This frog, I believe, is very poisonous but he is very cute!

Glittery piranhas

We also took a trip to Wisconsin and visited the Jelly Belly Factory. I never knew how many different jelly bean flavors there actually were!

Now the best part of the trip: THE FOOD!!!!!!

My friend's dad made very yummy Mickey Mouse pancakes!

AMAZING DONUTS!!!

THE BEST PIZZA IN THE WORLD!!!

This was one of my favorite trips to Chicago and I can't wait to go back! I highly recommend visiting this lovely city if you haven't already! Thank you to Anna and her family for letting me and my sister stay with you! You guys are awesome :)
